Ivica Zubac, the center for the Los Angeles Clippers, will be sidelined for a minimum of one month due to a right calf injury.
The Croatian player suffered a right calf strain, as announced by the California-based team. As a result, Mason Plumlee and Daniel Theis have stepped into his starting position. The condition of the towering center was commented on by Clippers’ coach Ty Lue:
“We have to adapt. I think Mase is finally getting into better form and has a lot more to go. On the other hand, DT (Theis) has been doing a fantastic job since he came here. Now he will have a bigger role and more responsibility. We will really miss Zubac.”
Ivica Zubac is statistically having the best season of his career. He averages 12.4 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in 38 appearances for the Clippers. The Croatian center also rarely misses games, having played 72 or more games in each of the last four seasons.
The Los Angeles Clippers are currently one of the top teams in the NBA, form wise. In their last 20 games, they have suffered only four losses. It is to be seen how the “Clipps” shape up without the towering Croatian.
