Ignas Brazdeikis, the new member of Olympiacos, spoke at the Greek team’s media day about joining the ranks of the Greek giants.
He expressed his satisfaction at the beginning as a Lithuanian. He said he is very pleased to be in Athens and looking forward to the new season. Furthermore, he emphasized that Zalgiris and Olympiacos reached an agreement very quickly.
“Both teams were in Cyprus, so we agreed very quickly, and I’m happy about that. I’m very excited to be in Athens now” – Brazdeikis began.
Afterwards, he spoke about the training process as a guy from Vilnius. He mentioned that it hasn’t been easy for him, as it’s well-known that he was a part of the Lithuanian national team at the FIBA World Cup.
“It hasn’t been easy. I didn’t play for several weeks. I trained in the gym and had an individual workout where they push you really hard, and I’m grateful for that. I want to get better here. It’s been very interesting so far” – said the young man who grew up in Canada.
He was then asked about the fans of Olympiacos from Piraeus. Brazdeikis emphasized that he has received an enormous amount of love from the fans and that he will give his all for the team.
“The messages I’ve received and the love through social media have been fantastic so far. I will give my heart and soul to all the fans and this team, so I’m very excited about that” – concluded the Lithuanian.
