Igokea secured their second win of the season in the ABA League, defeating Studentski centar in the third round by 91-82.
At the start of the match, Edin Atic was in good form and gave his team a seven-point lead. The team from Podgorica improved their play after a minute of rest during Andrej Zakelj’s timeout. However, the residents of Aleksandrovac maintained their lead, ending the first quarter with a 20-16 advantage.
Studentski centar attempted a comeback at the beginning of the second quarter. Still, Igokea controlled the score. With excellent play on both ends of the court, they established an 11-point lead. The guests threatened at the end of the first half with three successful three-pointers. Nevertheless, the home team went into halftime with a 49-40 lead.
At the beginning of the second half, the Igokea team established an 11-point lead. Thanks to a series of good plays by Luka Bogavac, the guests closed the gap to just two points. However, the home team managed to fend off the opponent’s surge. In the closing moments of the third quarter, Stefan Moody came alive. The American hit two consecutive three-pointers, extending his team’s lead to ten points.
At the start of the final quarter, Igokea maintained their lead. Podgorica’s team tried every possible way to get back into the game. Nevertheless, the home team had complete control of the match. Vladimir Jovanovic’s team easily finished the job, securing their second victory of the season.
Stefan Moody led Igokea to victory with 30 points, while Edin Atic added 17. Luka Bogavac and Kenan Kamenjas were the top scorers for the Podgorica team with 12 points each.
Igokea will face Cedevita Olimpija in the next round, while Studentski centar will host Mornar.
