Israel Gonzalez and Berlin’s Alba are in good spirits as they welcome Anadolu Efes in the 13th round of the EuroLeague.
The main reason for their optimism is the confidence gained from the triumph against Zalgiris, where Jonas Mattisseck secured victory seven seconds before the end. It was the second win for Alba in the current season, and they will strive to replicate a similar scenario against the two-time EuroLeague champions.
“We have many injury problems, but we will give our all to deliver a maximum effort for the full 40 minutes. If we display quality defense as we did against Zalgiris, we will have a chance,” said Israel Gonzalez.
Marcus Eriksson is certainly unavailable for the German team. Four players are questionable, and the decision will be made just before the game. They are Sterling Brown, Matt Thomas, Louis Olinde, and Ziga Samar.
The hero of the victory against Zalgiris, Jonas Mattisseck, echoed the coach’s words with many reasons for optimism:
“We are all excited about the upcoming game. Of course, we want to capitalize on the confidence gained from the triumph against the Lithuanian team. We aim to be ready from the first moment. Anadolu Efes is also coming with great confidence and in good spirits after beating Panathinaikos, despite significant injury problems.”
Alba Berlin currently shares the last place on the table with Asvel. The German and French representatives in the EuroLeague have achieved only two victories each.
