Israel Gonzalez spoke after the Euroleague Round 27 game between Alba Berlin and Maccabi Tel Aviv, sharing his thoughts.
Maccabi Tel Aviv achieved a triumph with a score of 106-71. In his post-game statement, Israel Gonzalez analyzed the events on the court.
“I can’t find anything positive in this game. We looked catastrophic. It’s hard for me to understand how we forgot to play defense and how individually good we are. Today we lacked focus and weren’t in the game. I hope this can help us make a reset. We can’t continue like this.”
Gonzalez is aware of the biggest problem with his team.
“When the opponent shoots 82%, that’s a sign there’s no defense. We can be glad we didn’t lose by a larger margin. We need to play more consistently on defense. First and foremost, our defense needs to be better,” said the Spaniard.
