Israel Gonzalez, the head coach of Alba Berlin, spoke before the 28th round of the EuroLeague, in which his team travels to face Baskonia.
Alba Berlin has suffered four consecutive losses in the EuroLeague, and coach Israel Gonzalez believes that it’s all part of the process and that there is a lot to be learned from those defeats.
“As is the case with every game in the EuroLeague, the matchup against Baskonia represents a great challenge for us. I hope my team will be as prepared as possible for the game on Friday and that we have learned from the previous two matches. We want to continue our journey, to further develop, and to give our best in every game,” Gonzalez said.
Center of the German team, Yanni Wetzell, also expressed his expectations for this game.
“For Baskonia, the game on Friday is extremely important in the battle for the EuroLeague playoffs. They have a very good team with strong individual players. Markus Howard is one of the best guards in the league and is always dangerous. Additionally, Chima Moneke has shown his qualities throughout the season. But we have also taken a step in the right direction with our win against Oldenburg on Sunday. We played as a team and brought energy to the court. We must continue to build on that.”
The game between Baskonia and Alba Berlin will take place on Friday, starting at 20:30.
