Chris Jones, one of Valencia’s top players this season, suffered an injury in last night’s game against Joventut.
The American only played for two minutes in this Liga Endesa match. He started the game but quickly left the court due to an ankle injury. Valencia lost the match 80:76 without his contribution.
Valencia’s coach, Alex Mumbru, commented on Jones’ injury, noting that it disrupted his team’s plans.
“He twisted his ankle on the first attack, and it immediately swelled up. It didn’t make sense to put him back into the game right away. We wanted Harper to play at point guard, and it disrupted us a bit. Jones’ leg currently looks like he’s wearing a boot,” Mumbru emphasized.
Chris Jones has been one of Valencia’s leaders this season, averaging 11.6 points, 4.7 assists, and 1.8 steals. It remains to be seen if Valencia will be able to count on him in the next EuroLeague match against Milano.
