Jalen Brunson, the star of the New York Knicks, spoke about Rick Carlisle, the current head coach of the Indiana Pacers.
The two of them are well acquainted. They worked together in the Dallas Mavericks and were in the NBA playoffs together. Three years ago, the team from Texas had a 3:2 lead against the Los Angeles Clippers, but they lost that series. The American played only 10 minutes in Game 7 of that series and he was asked if he has extra motivation.
“To be honest, I’ve said this before, we are in the playoffs, there’s no extra motive. What’s done is done. The past is the past. Rick Carlisle embraced me from day one in this league and helped me become the player I am today,” said Jalen Brunson.
The head coach of the Indiana Pacers also had kind words to say.
“In the last two games against us, he scored 40 points and 39 in the second game. He leads in scoring in the playoffs. It’s clear that he’s been playing at a high level this season and has maintained it during the playoffs, which is very difficult to do,” praised Rick Carlisle.
The series between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers begins tonight at 1:30 Central European Time.
