Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks player, spoke to the media after his team’s convincing defeat in Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals.
Jalen Brunson played his worst game of the playoffs this season. He scored only 18 points with a very poor shooting percentage of 6/17. He didn’t shine from the free-throw line either (6/9), and it’s clear that Brunson is struggling with the injury he sustained in Game 2 of this series. The Knicks’ star player didn’t want to make excuses for his team’s convincing 121:89 defeat.
Brunson played in this game despite the injury, but Tom Thibodeau couldn’t count on Julius Randle, OG Anunoby, Bojan Bogdanovic, and Mitchell Robinson.
“Yeah, we’re short-handed but that doesn’t matter right now. We have what we have and we need to go forward with that. There is no ‘we’re short-handed.’ There is no excuse whatsoever… If we lose, we lose,” Brunson said.
The series is now tied 2-2 after the New York Knicks won the first two games at Madison Square Garden, and their opponent also defended their home court twice. The next game is scheduled for Wednesday morning at 2:00 AM.
