The Basketball Association of Canada has announced that Jamal Murray will not be representing the Canadian national basketball team in the upcoming FIBA World Cup.
Jamal Murray, who recently clinched the NBA championship with the Denver Nuggets, will miss the championship due to injury concerns.
Despite his best efforts to recover in time, Jamal Murray expressed that he arrived at training camp hoping to assess his body’s response after a demanding season and whether he could meet the physical demands required for the World Cup.

In consultation with the medical team, it became clear that additional recovery was necessary. Murray has made the tough decision not to participate in the tournament. Canada is placed in Group H for the World Cup alongside France, Latvia, and Lebanon.
