Jan Vesely, a player for Barcelona, spoke in an interview for “Sportal” about the coaches of Partizan and tomorrow’s opponent, Crvena Zvezda.
The Czech international spoke positively about the red-and-whites. He mentioned that Ioannis Sfairopoulos’s team is in a good rhythm and that the team from Mali Kalemegdan has significantly strengthened.
Crvena Zvezda had the most impactful transfer window in the EuroLeague, with the most changes. It will be a tough game. They are in good form. I think they are still searching for their identity, especially with the change in coaching staff at the beginning of the season, which wasn’t expected after the preparations. They are still adjusting. I believe the changes came at the start of the season, and after a few games, it wasn’t working perfectly. Most players were accustomed to the previous system during their preparations, and the transition to a new one in the first five or six EuroLeague games was challenging. However, change always brings a new energy, so we are preparing for a well-prepared and capable opponent who knows how to play.

He then spoke about working with either Duško Vujošević or Željko Obradović, two renowned basketball coaches. He provided an interesting response to this question.
“At my age, I’d rather work with Željko because he is a better coach for experienced players. Duško is a master at working with young players. He’s not just a coach; he’s also a psychologist. I think I could work with him as an assistant coach, not as a player. But when it comes to choosing as a player, I’d pick Željko. It’s two different dimensions for the player, young and experienced.”
Finally, Vesely talked about the possibility of returning to the ranks of Partizan, and his response was intriguing for the “Grobari” fans (Partizan’s supporters).
“That possibility exists, why not. Now it’s more realistic because they play in the EuroLeague, but I don’t dwell on it too deeply. It would be phenomenal; I left 12 years ago, it would be interesting, but I don’t know, we’ll see,” Jan Vesely concluded.
Crvena Zvezda and Barcelona will play on Friday at 20:30.
