Jason Kidd, the coach of the Dallas Mavericks, expressed intense emotions during the press conference following his team’s win over the Houston Rockets.
The dynamic duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving played a crucial role in the second-half comeback, overcoming a nine-point deficit against the league’s top defensive team.
After this win, coach Jason Kidd passionately defended his stars when questioned about their performance. The press conference took an interesting turn when Kidd, addressing ESPN journalist Tim MacMahon, requested some positive media coverage for their success
Kidd, who left the press conference early, emphasized the growth process.
“Maybe things you thought would happen on the first day should be successful right from the start. It takes time. Failure is okay,” Kidd began.
“It’s not a bad thing for athletes to experience failure because it’s better to learn from it. The two of them are the best in the world, and we feel very comfortable with them handling the ball. Sometimes it goes in, sometimes it doesn’t, but we learn from it. As you mentioned, they are one of the best duos in clutch time.”
“That’s something you wanted to do a big deal about last year, but don’t make a big deal about it this year because everything is going well,” he continued.
“So, write some positive s**t. I’m giving you a f***ing answer. It’s okay to write positive things. People will read your positive s**t. You don’t always have to be negative. The world is negative enough, isn’t it?
Let’s see some positive things about positive people doing their job at night. We just entered this year; we can’t go back to last year. That’s the f***ing problem. Have a good night,” Kidd said and left the room.
“Write some positive sh*t.”

Despite preseason doubts and predictions that they would miss the playoffs, much like in the 2022-23 season, the star duo has proven their critics wrong.
