Javonte Smart spoke after the win against Krka, where he had his best scoring performance in the red and white jersey.
He scored 24 points and seemed to have freedom in his game. First, in an interview for “Meridian Sport,” he talked about his shot. He emphasized that he has confidence in it and is convinced that this aspect of his game will be in perfect order.
“I’m just trying to find my rhythm. I think the coach believes in me. When I step on the court, you know what I can do. So every game, I try to go out there and do what I do. There were games where I didn’t show what I’m capable of, but I’m improving over time and feeling better on the court.
I’m a scorer, I’m a playmaker. I love to score and make my teammates better. So, I just want to keep doing that and help my team win. I believe in myself and know what I can do. I can shoot, catch and shoot off the dribble, I can do it all. I just have to keep hitting my shots, find my rhythm, and everything will be fine,” Javonte Smart began.
Then he commented on Milos Teodosic, who has been absent from the court since the Radivoj Korac Cup final. The young American emphasized that he can’t wait to see the veteran back on the court.
“Teo is a big part of the team. Before I came here, I heard a lot about him. I love playing with him. I would love for him to come back faster, to recover from his injuries, but while he’s not here, we’ll continue to do what we do.”
He also talked about the record for the top scorer of the EuroLeague, which was broken by Mike James, revealing that he didn’t know much about the journey of the Monaco player who now stands alone in first place.
“I don’t know him too well. I know he can score very easily. Before I came, he was one of the players I saw playing in the EuroLeague. I knew that a few guys were going to his games, like Kevin Durant. I took a brief look at his matches, but I really tip my hat to him. An incredible achievement!”
