The Boston Celtics cruised to a routine win against the Cleveland Cavaliers by 120:95, led by the excellent performance of Jaylen Brown.
After a tough battle, the Cavaliers managed to secure a spot in the second round, knocking out the Orlando Magic after seven games. They then faced the well-rested Boston Celtics, who finished their series in just five games against the Miami Heat. That freshness was evident right from the start of this series.
The game started with two completely contrasting quarters. In the first quarter, neither team played much defense, resulting in a combined 74 points in the first 12 minutes of basketball, with the hosts leading by six points. The second quarter painted a different picture, dominated by defenses, yet the Celtics adapted better and went into halftime with a 10-point lead.
From that point onward, there was only one team on the court. The Cavaliers lacked the energy to stage any comeback, which wasn’t realistically expected given the quality of their opponents. The Celtics comfortably closed out the game, maintaining their lead in the third and fourth quarters for a convincing 25-point victory after 48 minutes of play.
The top scorer for the winning team was Jaylen Brown with 32 points, followed by Derrick White with 25. Jayson Tatum also had a good game with 18 points and 11 assists. On the other side, Donovan Mitchell scored 33 points, and Evan Mobley contributed 17 points along with 13 rebounds.
The next game of this NBA playoffs series will be played on May 10th at 1:00.
