Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics player, spoke after his team loss Game 4 of the NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks.
After a disappointing Game 4 loss at American Airlines Center, the Celtics return to Boston with three chances left to secure Banner 18. Their first opportunity comes in front of nearly 20,000 fervent fans, eager to see the Dallas Mavericks defeated.
“I think it’s going to be as loud as it’s ever been in my seven years of being a Celtic. I’m excited to go back home, celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday and compete for a championship on Monday. It should be a lot of fun,” Tatum said.
Jayson Tatum, with 311 career games at TD Garden, faces the most significant game of his career in Game 5. It’s a shot at redemption and a chance to reach the pinnacle after a near miss against the Golden State Warriors two years ago.
For the city, it’s a long-awaited opportunity to finally claim Banner 18.
Victory won’t come easy, as Game 4 showed. Yet, the Celtics seem ready to rise to the occasion, bolstered by their home crowd. Jaylen Brown previously rallied the fans, and it made a notable impact.
“These moments define you,” Brown remarked on Friday. “We need to regroup, learn, and then attack the challenge. Achieving our goal is tough, but we never expected it to be easy. We must keep our composure.”
