Jayson Tatum was the top scorer for the Boston Celtics as they defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers by 93:106.
The Cleveland Cavaliers caused a major upset, taking the lead in the second quarter on the road against the Celtics. They didn’t start this game poorly either.
While their defense wasn’t at its best, they managed to keep up offensively and finished the first quarter with just a two-point deficit. However, a significant gap was created in the second quarter, mainly thanks to Jayson Tatum, who led the Celtics to a nine-point lead at halftime.
A similar scenario unfolded in the third quarter, where the Cavaliers struggled to impose their defensive rhythm. The Boston Celtics took advantage of this superbly, extending their lead to a massive 16 points going into the final quarter. There, the visitors calmly closed out the game and swiftly reclaimed the breakthrough, taking a 2-1 lead in the series.
Jayson Tatum was the standout performer for the winning team with 33 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists, while Jaylen Brown contributed 28 points. Jrue Holiday played an excellent role with 18 points and his usual outstanding defense. On the other side, Donovan Mitchell stood out with 44 points, supported by Evan Mobley with 17.
The next game is scheduled for May 14th at 01:00.
