Jayson Tatum, a Boston Celtics player, spoke to the media ahead of Game 3 of the NBA Finals series against the Dallas Mavericks.
It is clear that Jayson Tatum still has a lot to offer the Boston Celtics. In Game 1, he scored 16 points, while in Game 2 he added 18 points along with 12 assists.
He has significant issues with his field goal percentage, but what is interesting is that the Celtics are 6-0 when Tatum shoots less than 40% from the field.
This speaks volumes about how deep the roster of the team from Massachusetts is, as they lead 2-0 in the finals even without Tatum performing at his best.
“I understand that I do need to be more efficient. I do need to shoot the ball better, I would not disagree with anybody on that. But I’m not letting it bother me. I’m still trying to find ways to impact the game and dominate the game in other areas,” Tatum said.
“Over time you learn how to deal with all the extra noise and attention, whether it’s positive or not so positive. You know, I’m a fair, smart person. I know when I’m doing things at a high level. I know when I need to do certain things better. So I’m not, like, oblivious to what’s going on. At the same time, just keeping the main thing the main thing and focusing on trying to win the next game. That’s what’s most important at this time,” said Jayson Tatum.
Game 3 of the finals series will be played in Dallas on Thursday morning, starting at 2:30 AM.
