Jean Montero, Andorra player, has been named the best young player of the Spanish Liga Endesa for the second consecutive year.
Hailing from the Dominican Republic, he is the star player of the micro-state club. At the same time, this 20-year-old is currently second on the MVP list with an average index of 19.5, fifth in scoring with 15.1 points per game, and fifth in assists with 5.2 assists per game. He has also been named the player of the week twice.
Jean Montero received the same recognition last year when he was part of Betis. As a result, he signed a three-year contract with Gran Canaria but was soon loaned out to Andorra. Coaches, club captains, and journalists participated in the poll, with him receiving 164 out of 204 possible votes.
The people at Andorra are well aware of Montero’s talent. Gorka Aixas, the club’s media representative, said the following about him:
“He has shown that he is a player for a higher level. He is one of the best players who has passed through our club. If not the best.”
This marks the third time since the Liga Endesa started awarding this prize that someone has won it two years in a row. Luka Doncic won it in 2017 and 2018, as did Carlos Alocen in 2019 and 2020.
