Jimmy Butler is the leader of the Miami Heat on and off the court, and he has paid special attention to his young teammates, speaking highly of them.
In the previous NBA season, the “Heat” made it to the grand finals. However, they were defeated by the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic, who were crowned champions. In the meantime, Nikola Jovic represented the Serbian national team at the FIBA World Cup. It was there that he received all the compliments for his performance, and this trend continued in the NBA preseason.
“He will play a significant role in all our games. This young man carries himself as if he’s been a part of all this for six or seven years already,” said Jimmy Butler about the Serbian representative. The conversation then shifted to Jaime Jaquez:
“He’s very smart, plays like a veteran, and doesn’t make mistakes on the court. From what I’ve seen in NCAA, I can say he’s truly a smart player.”
In the previous season, Jimmy Butler played 64 games, averaging 22.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists, filling up all statistical categories. On the other hand, Nikola Jovic played only 15 games, averaging 5.5 points and two rebounds per game.
At the FIBA World Cup, he was a significant part of the team led by Svetislav Pesic, which won the silver medal. Nikola Jovic averaged 10 points, three rebounds, and two assists over eight games.
