JJ Redick is again the frontrunner for the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
According to reports, the former NBA star is advancing through the interview process and multiple members of the organization spoke to him directly.
Such figures include, the owner of the franchise Jeanie Buss, the GM Rob Pelinka and other key members.
The Lakers previously interviewed New Orleans assistant coach James Borrego and Connecticut head coach Dan Hurley. Hurley was offered the job but declined a six-year, $70-million deal to remain with the Huskies.
According to the LA Times, JJ Redick has been in regular contact with Pelinka since former coach Darvin Ham’s dismissal.
