Veteran forward Joe Ingles has inked a new one-year contract worth $3.3 million with the Minnesota Timberwolves, as confirmed by sources to ESPN on Wednesday.

The move to secure Ingles came swiftly after the Timberwolves anticipated the departure of Kyle Anderson in free agency. Tim Connelly, President of Basketball Operations for Minnesota, swiftly engaged with Ingles’ agent, Mark Bartelstein, to finalize the agreement. Ingles’ renowned 3-point shooting prowess and adept playmaking were key factors in the Timberwolves’ pursuit.
Throughout his career, Ingles has maintained an impressive 41% success rate from beyond the arc, including an outstanding 43.5% performance with the Orlando Magic last season. This places him among the top shooters in NBA history, ranking fourth among players with over 2,500 attempts since his debut during the 2014-15 season, according to ESPN Stats & Information. He trails only JJ Redick (42.9%), Steph Curry (42.1%), and Klay Thompson (41.4%) in this category.
Having played ten seasons in the NBA since arriving from Australia, Ingles brings a wealth of experience to the Timberwolves. His tenure with the Utah Jazz, where he spent eight seasons before injuries sidelined him, was marked by consistent playoff appearances alongside Gobert and Conley.
After brief stints with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Orlando Magic over the past two seasons, Ingles now looks forward to making a playoff impact for the third consecutive year, this time clad in Timberwolves colors. Additionally, he is set to represent Australia in the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics, adding international prestige to his decorated career.
