Joe Ragland, former EuroLeague player and now a player for Peristeri, has been awarded the Most Valuable Player of March in the FIBA Champions League.
Despite opening the second phase of the competition with three consecutive losses, Peristeri managed to overcome a difficult situation and secure a spot in the quarterfinals. Joe Ragland deserves significant credit for this achievement.
At 34 years old, Joe Ragland continues to perform at a high level. Even before receiving this award, he was the player with the most MVP recognitions on a monthly basis in the FIBA Champions League. This marks his fourth time being named the Player of the Month. Ragland previously won the award in March and October 2022, then again in January of the following year, and now in March.
Maybe not by chance, the American point guard also leads the competition in double-double performances, with 16 in his career. That’s six more than the players in second place. In March, he averaged 16.7 points and 11 assists per game.
“Vassilis Spanoulis is like an older brother to me. I understand that I’m his extended arm on the court, so we talk every day and share ideas about the game. His basketball IQ is exceptional. For me, it’s a blessing to be around him every day and continue learning from one of the greatest ever,” said Joe Ragland.
