Philadelphia 76ers’ player Joel Embiid was the standout performer in his team’s win against Orlando Magic by 125:113.
Embiid recently returned to the court after a slightly longer absence due to injury, aiming to avoid the play-in zone by stringing together wins, a situation the Philadelphia 76ers found themselves in during his absence.
He scored 32 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and dished out seven assists, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing for him during this game.
At one point, he seemed to awkwardly land early in the game and couldn’t continue, heading to the locker room. It seemed then that he wouldn’t return to the court due to a knee injury, and there were concerns about something more serious, given his history.
Fortunately for the Philadelphia 76ers, he returned and dominated against the Orlando Magic. Alongside him, Tyrese Maxey also made an impact with 28 points. Franz Wagner led the defeated side with 22 points. The Philadelphia 76ers and Orlando Magic are part of a group of three teams with identical 46-35 NBA records from fifth to seventh place, and the final game will decide who goes directly to the playoffs and who enters the play-in.
Tristan Vukcevic continues to impress, as he was once again at a high level in the NBA league.
In his Washington Wizards’ 129:127 loss to the Chicago Bulls, Vukcevic scored 19 points, setting a new personal record. The power forward achieved this in just 22 minutes as a starter. He shot 5 for 11 from the field, 2 for 7 from three-point range, and was accurate from the free-throw line, making seven out of nine attempts.
The Washington Wizards are second to last in the Eastern Conference with a record of 15-66, while the Chicago Bulls are locked into ninth place with a record of 39-42.
