Maccabi basketball player John DiBartolomeo spoke ahead of the first-round match against Partizan in the EuroLeague.
DiBartolomeo emphasized that his team faces a significant challenge against the black and white squad, who, as he stated, are aiming for the highest goals.
“The fact that we are good doesn’t mean we will be among the best. Everyone starts with a score of 0:0. There will be challenges, and we will have to overcome them as a team. This will determine where we end up in the end. Every game is important; the league is very competitive. In my opinion, Partizan has a team capable of competing for the playoffs,” John DiBartolomeo said.
The Israeli guard holds the black and white lineup in high regard and also commented on who will pose the biggest threat to Maccabi’s basket.
“Partizan is a very good team, highly talented and well-coached. Kevin Punter is their real weapon, attracting a lot of attention. It will be a significant challenge for us, but playing in front of our fans will give us additional energy,” DiBartolomeo emphasized.
The Israeli club lost in the League Cup final to Hapoel Jerusalem with a score of 79:71. The matchup between Maccabi and Partizan is set to take place on Thursday at 20:05.
