John Holland represented the Puerto Rico national team at the FIBA World Cup, where he sustained an injury during the tournament that will require a significant period of recovery.
As reported by Or Shkedy from Walla Sport, the 34-year-old who signed for Hapoel Tel Aviv this summer has a broken arm. Due to the injury, Holland will be sidelined for four to six weeks. The former Crvena Zvezda player averaged four points, two rebounds, and one assist in five games during the tournament.
The Puerto Rican-born player from the Bronx joined the club from Mali Kalemegdan after an outstanding season with Bursa, where he even reached the EuroCup finals.
During his time in the red and white jersey, John Holland’s performances fell far below expectations, as reflected in his average of 3.6 points in the EuroLeague and 4.6 points in the ABA League.
Holland began his illustrious career in Roanne, and has since played for Betis, Gravelines, Besiktas, Cleveland Charge, Boston, Cleveland Cavaliers, Austin Spurs, Santeros de Aguadu, San Miguel Beermen, Hapoel Jerusalem, UNICS, Cariduros de Fajardo and Bursa.
