Former Fenerbahce center, Johnathan Motley, has signed for Hapoel Tel Aviv, the Israeli club officially announced.
Motley was conected with many EuroLeague teams, he had a more than good season in Istanbul behind him, but he surprisingly opted for the EuroCup.
Now, he will play in Israel for Stefanos Dedas, a former assistant coach at Fenerbahce.
Motley has agreed a two-year deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv, so he will join Oz Blayzer, Joe Ragland and Guy Palatin as new signings.
“This player has a unique set of abilities in defense and offense, which will strengthen us a lot. This signing clearly shows how high our ambitions are,” said general manager Giorgos Hinas.
Motley averaged 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 72 games over two seasons with Fenerbahce. Before that, he excelled in the EuroCup with Lokomotiv Kuban with 21.2 points and seven rebounds on average.
The American center also played in the NBA, where he played one season with the Dallas Mavericks and two seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers.
