Josh Hart, New York Knicks player, spoke to the media after his team’s loss in Game 3 against the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals.
Hart played his worst game in this year’s playoffs. He scored only 2 points, shooting just 1/6 from the field. His team suffered a real debacle, trailing by as much as 43 points at one point in the game. After the game, during his conversation with the media, Hart took responsibility.
“I put that on my shoulders. I’m supposed to be the energy guy of the team, and I didn’t do anything. I gave nothing. I put that on my shoulders. Now we’ve got to focus on rest and recovery and like I said, get ready for Tuesday.”
New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is known for playing his starters for a significant number of minutes on the court, and when it comes to the Knicks, Josh Hart leads the way in that aspect. He had played 42 or more minutes in nine consecutive games before that streak was broken in this game.
“Do I feel it (the wear and tear)? Yeah. But I mean, I think everyone does. So at the end of the day it’s the playoffs. You’ve got to will yourself, will your body, and that’s something that I failed to do today. I’ve got to be better. There’s no excuses.”
The series is now tied 2-2 after the New York Knicks won the first two games at Madison Square Garden, and their opponent also defended their home court twice. The next game is scheduled for Wednesday morning at 2:00 AM.
