Kazys Maksvytis spoke before the EuroLeague duel against Valencia and also touched on the recent coaching changes in the elite competition.
As it is already known, T.J. Parker and Dusko Ivanovic were dismissed by Asvel and Crvena Zvezda. The Lithuanian expert expressed his opinion on the matter, where he stood up in defense of his colleagues.
Valencia as the next opponent
“We are playing against an exceptionally high-quality opponent, and they are in good form. Just like us, they have three wins and one loss in four played games. I think they have a good team with more athleticism. Despite injury problems, the team composition is of high quality, and they have many players at their disposal. A typical Spanish system and an interesting opponent that isn’t easy to scout,” said Kazys Maksvytis.
Dismissals of Parker and Ivanovic
“It’s a sharp stance by the clubs. As a coach, I have to stand up for my colleagues. It’s only the beginning of the season, and they’ve already been dismissed. It’s not just a problem for the coaches; clubs also create certain issues,” Maksvytis stated.
