Kazys Maksvytis has expressed his views on the upcoming opponent in the elite competition – the EuroLeague, which is Berlin’s Alba.
The Lithuanian representative has a record of 5-6 after 11 rounds, while the German team has only one win, placing them at the bottom of the EuroLeague table.
“Their players are capable of covering multiple positions. They insist on a fast ball movement and sometimes can score without the ball touching the floor. Alba Berlin is a team outside all standards, a dangerous team.
Their last position in the table doesn’t play a role; they are still very dangerous. They shoot a lot from three-point range and prefer fast-paced play. It’s necessary to play well, prevent easy points, and not get into a running game with them,” said Kazys Maksvytis.
Arnas Butkevicius will miss this game due to injury. He is expected to have a somewhat extended break, and according to initial estimates, he will be prevented from playing for two to three months. When asked by reporters if Zalgiris will sign any reinforcements, coach Makvytis replied that it requires patience.
