Kazys Maksvytis, the coach of Zalgiris, spoke ahead of the 14th round of the EuroLeague, in which his team will face Partizan.
The experienced Lithuanian coach highlighted several players, but foremost, he emphasized the issues facing the Lithuanian giant.
“As for the offense, this is one of the best teams, they draw a lot of fouls. A very versatile team, the attack can be explained by the fact that they have several leaders: Kevin Punter, P.J. Dozier, and James Nunnally. They are one of the few teams where practically everyone in the team shoots threes. This allows them to play unconventional situations. Partizan is in good rhythm, but we must focus on ourselves.
We have a lot of injuries even among the players who are here. Ned Montvilas couldn’t participate in training due to illness, Edmond Sumner hasn’t fully recovered from recent games, but I expect him to return to the court. As for the newcomer Austin Hollins, we will touch base with him for the first time in training today. We’ll see in what form he is when he arrives. We need to solve our problems and try to give Partizan a tough challenge,” said Kazys Maksvytis.
