Kemba Walker discussed signing with Monaco after 12 years in the NBA, adjusting to life in Europe, and recovering from injuries.
Monaco star Kemba Walker talked about adapting to European basketball, transitioning from the NBA, his career, and much more in the latest episode of EuroLeague Basketball The Crossover with Joe Arlauckas.
“I wanted to experience something new. I wanted to try to experience the world. And it was really an easy adjustment. These guys welcomed me with open arms, they treated me with a lot of respect. It just made the transition really easy,” said Walker, a four-time NBA All-Star.
“As someone coming from the United States and being here for the first time in a long time, all you can ask for is to be welcomed in the right way,” Walker added.
“And that’s something I really appreciate from my teammates. These guys are some of the best teammates I’ve ever had. These guys are amazing, I love being with them every day. I appreciate every morning knowing that I’m coming to practice with these guys… They make it fun.”
Walker also spoke about playing alongside Mike James, one of the top players in EuroLeague in recent years and a former NBA guard who played for the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets.
“He’s really fun to watch. And he made it easy for me. The guys have been great“, Kemba Walker said.
