As the Charlotte Hornets gear up for the 2024-25 season, they have bolstered their coaching team with a familiar face.
Kemba Walker, who recently retired from professional basketball, has joined Charles Lee’s coaching staff as a player enhancement coach.
Walker, a three-time NBA All-Star, enjoyed an illustrious eight-year tenure with the Hornets after being selected 9th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. He is the franchise’s all-time leading scorer with 12,009 points.
In addition to his scoring prowess, the 34-year-old guard holds franchise records for three-pointers made, win shares, and minutes played. He ranks second in assists, third in steals, third in games played, and eighth in rebounds for the Hornets.
Following his time in Charlotte, Kemba Walker played for the Boston Celtics from 2019 to 2021, earning his fourth All-Star selection. His career also included stints with the New York Knicks, Dallas Mavericks, and Monaco, where he capped off his playing days with a LNB Pro A.
Walker’s return to the Hornets in a coaching capacity marks an exciting new chapter for both him and the organization as they aim for success in the upcoming season.
