Kevin Durant, a player for the Phoenix Suns, spoke to the media after his team was eliminated from the NBA playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It’s been a forgettable season for the Phoenix Suns. Their ambitions were aimed at the championship, but the reality is exiting in the first round. And not just any exit, but a playoff exit without seriously challenging the Timberwolves in four games. One of the few who performed at the expected level was Kevin Durant, who briefly analyzed the entire series.
“Everything can be better. I don’t want to go into details because then you won’t stop talking about it. We want to be better in every way because we definitely can. Anything I say here now sounds like an excuse or a bad reason. I want to focus on myself and my family during the break, but that won’t last long. I’ll be back in the gym and on the court working hard, the Olympics are in July.
The national team gathering for the United States starts in a month from today, and I’m focused on that. We need to lift our heads, continue working hard, and that can bring results. We understand each other more, I’ve gotten to know Devin Booker and the rest of the team much better. Communication is one of the key factors for progress,” he said.
Kevin Durant also touched on Anthony Edwards, whom the former MVP has nothing but praise for.
“I’m impressed by him. He’s my favorite player to watch. He came into the NBA and at 22 years old, he’s one of the best. He loves basketball, and that’s why I’m really happy for him. It was tough playing against Edwards, but I’ll always follow and support him.”
Lastly, Kevin Durant discussed his plans, emphasizing that he’s healthy and expects to come back even stronger next season.
“I’ve played 75 games, I feel good, and I’m healthy. I want more time on the court. I’m excited for the next season. You ask me about motivation? I live and breathe this stuff, man. I don’t have anything else in this moment of my life. My primary focus is basketball, I love playing.
I’ll come back next season more motivated than ever and ready to play. I don’t think you should have asked me that.”
