Kevin Punter will not be part of Partizan’s team that will play tomorrow in Athens against the favored Panathinaikos.
Partizan is traveling to Greece after an exceptionally important victory against Maccabi Tel Aviv in the EuroLeague. However, it was noticeable at the airport that there is no captain and best player. According to the latest information, Kevin Punter did not join the team on the trip due to an elevated temperature. The coaching staff has decided that it is best for him to stay in Belgrade.
In addition to Punter, Aleksa Avramovic is also not in the team, still recovering from a leg injury. Assistant coach Vlada Androic, facing the same issue as the Partizan captain, did not travel either. Consequently, head coach Zeljko Obradovic took 13 players to Athens, and a decision will be made before the game on who will be the surplus.
The match between Panathinaikos and Partizan is scheduled for Friday at 8:15 PM. In the first match, Partizan won with a score of 92:87 after overtime.
This season, Kevin Punter has been averaging 14.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game in the elite competition. In the first match at the Belgrade Arena, he scored 13 points.
