After the final game of the Final Four, which marked the end of the EuroLeague season, the MVP award was presented. The Most Valuable Player of the Final Four was Kostas Sloukas.
The incredible Panathinaikos team managed to secure their seventh EuroLeague championship. At one point, it looked like this wouldn’t happen, as their opponent had a 14-point lead and appeared much stronger. Then, the Athens team managed to orchestrate a major comeback, winning the title by 95:77.
Kostas Sloukas made the biggest contribution to the title run at the Uber Arena over these three days, especially in the final. He finished the game with 24 points without missing a single shot from the field (6/6). He hit eight of nine free throws, handed out three assists, grabbed two rebounds, and was at his best when it was most needed.
This was the eighth Final Four for the Greek playmaker, and with his performance in the final, he surpassed Matjaz Smodis in the number of EuroLeague final games played. The MVP trophy is the crown of his season, as he joined Panathinaikos from their biggest rival – Olympiacos. In this way, he fully justified the reputation of being a major addition and the individual upon whose shoulders the team is built.
