Kristaps Porzingis, a player of the Boston Celtics, will miss the start of the Eastern Conference Finals against the winner of the series between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers.
Unfortunately, throughout his career, the Latvian national team player has been plagued by injuries. There will always be the question of what could have been if he could only stay healthy for an extended period. The Boston Celtics have looked fantastic with him this season, and he himself has fit into the team excellently, being outstanding on both ends of the court.
He was injured in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference against the Miami Heat when he sustained a calf injury. Since then, he has not played for Boston, which easily dealt with the Cleveland Cavaliers without him, defeating them 4-1 in the series. Kristaps Porzingis will certainly miss the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals, but there is hope that he will return later in the series, as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.
According to Wojnarowski, Porzingis has been making progress in his recovery and is increasing his on-court activity, but still needs time before he’s considered ready to play.
In 57 regular-season games, Porzingis averaged 20.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and shot 51.6% from the field and 37.5% from beyond the arc while helping the Celtics to an NBA-best 64 wins.
