Kyle Guy, a Panathinaikos guard, spoke about his experience in the NBA, his transition to the Greek club, as well as mental health in an interview with “Eurohoops.”
The American discussed his NBA experience, expressing his belief that he could have been given a greater opportunity given his positive performances.
“Ask the NBA and general managers. I know I did everything within my power to be a part of an NBA team. Every time I played for over five minutes, I usually had a good role. It doesn’t matter; I’m here now, and I want to play and win.”

He then emphasized the importance of mental health. For him, it’s a crucial aspect, and he stresses that everyone must find a way to cope with challenging life moments.
“I think giving importance to it in a way diminishes its power. You start to discover what works for you. For some people, it’s therapy, for some, it’s listening to music, for some, it’s confronting it directly. Anything that helps you get through it. You start to understand this as you get older. I’m always under pressure, playing basketball. I’m sure I’ll find myself in many such situations this year, playing in front of these fans and in this league. So, I think constantly putting myself in such situations and giving importance to it, in a way, has helped me get through those tough moments.”
Regarding his move to Panathinaikos:
“I simply love winning. If we can win the seventh star, I think that’s why we are here. We want to win the league as well. Everything we play, we want to win. That’s what drives us. I’m here to contribute to that goal.”
