Kyrie Irving, a basketball player of the Dallas Mavericks, talked about his relationship with Luka Doncic and how the roles are distributed within the team.
The next obstacle for the Mavericks is the Oklahoma City Thunder, a young and insanely talented team that has earned the status of the top seed in the tough Western Conference, and then easily swept the New Orleans Pelicans 4-0. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, alongside Luka Doncic, poses the main competition to Nikola Jokic for the NBA MVP title and is currently a more formidable and challenging player than any of the aging stars on the Clippers.
The Thunder are the favorites, but certainly not unbeatable. The Mavs will need their two stars in optimal form to advance to the Western Conference Finals, and Irving is confident they will deliver.
“It’s so easy to play with Luka, but you have to be confident in yourself when playing with someone so special because it’s easy to fall into a secondary role. With us, there’s no primary and secondary, we are one team. We win together and lose together, that’s been the case since the beginning of the season. We are a team and everyone has their specific role. Everyone brings their set of skills to the team. We just need to be the best versions of ourselves.”
