LeBron James and Anthony Davis spoke with the media representatives with great confidence ahead of the new NBA season.
They will face the Denver Nuggets in the opening game of the new competitive year. There’s a bitter taste left for the Lakers after Nikola Jokic and the rest of the team triumphed 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals and went on to win the NBA championship.
“When I arrived here, I had a feeling that I didn’t want this to be a short-term thing. I came with the idea of helping this franchise return to the playoffs and be in a position to add another championship trophy to their collection. And I was able to do that. Now, I want to move one of those trophies in the trophy room aside and add another one,” said LeBron James.
Anthony Davis followed up on his statements with a desire for a better season than the previous one:
“I feel like I’m an aggressive player. I use whatever the opposing defense gives me. If it’s a shot, then it’s a shot. If it’s taking advantage of a block or playing with my back to the basket, then that’s how it is. If the opportunity for a three-pointer opens up, then I’ll shoot the three. I’m trying to attack on all three levels.
The coach makes a game plan for me, putting me in positions that suit me. Teammates do a good job allowing me to find the positions I like on the court. After that, it’s all up to me when it comes to finishing, which is scoring.”
