Los Angeles Lakers basketball player LeBron James will play for the national team at the Olympic Games in Paris next year, according to Boston legend Paul Pierce.
James turns 39 next summer and is nearing the end of his career. That, according to Pierce, won’t stop the NBA superstar from heading to France. James last time wore the jersey of the United States of America in 2012. Then Spain was defeated in the final of the Olympic Games in London, for the second consecutive gold.
“I really think LeBron will play there. It will be his last Olympics. And Stephen Curry is going to be there.” – said the former Celtics basketball player on the Ticket & The Truth podcast.

In his career, the forward played 43 games for the national team and averaged 13.3 points, with just under four rebounds and assists. He won’t be part of the team at the upcoming FIBA World Cup. The USA went to the tournament with a combined team, but as such they are favorites in Group C. It also includes Greece, Jordan and New Zealand.
Mundobasket is scheduled from August 25 to September 10. The title is defended by Spain, which previously defeated Argentina in the final. The Americans finished their last appearance at the World Cup in seventh position.
