Baskonia has won a legal dispute against Luca Vildoza, so the Panathinaikos player will have to pay one million euros to the Spanish club.
According to the report, Luca Vildoza did not fulfill his contractual obligations to Baskonia but chose to continue his career in the NBA. Upon returning to Europe, he signed with Crvena Zvezda, which was also not possible according to the contract terms.
“The Social Court No. 1 of Vitoria-Gasteiz accepts the claim of Saski Baskonia, S.A.D. against Mr. Luca Vildoza.
Today, the Social Court No. 1 of Vitoria-Gasteiz has notified the judgment, which substantially accepts the claim made by SASKI BASKONIA, S.A.D. against Mr. Luca Vildoza.
The judgment orders Mr. Vildoza to pay the Club 1 million euros, as compensation pending from his unilateral termination of the existing contract for his departure to the NBA and subsequent return to Europe.
Although this resolution is favorable to the interests of the Club, the agreed compensation in the contract with Mr. Vildoza amounted to 2 million euros. Given the circumstances and respecting the issued judgment, SASKI BASKONIA, S.A.D. will proceed to file the appropriate appeal before the Superior Court of Justice of the Basque Country, requesting payment of the unrecognized part. Additionally, it will also request, before the competent authorities, the provisional execution of the judgment.”
