Luca Vildoza, former player of Crvena Zvezda and now a member of Panathinaikos, compared the Serbian and Greek derby after having the opportunity to be a part of both.
The Argentine guard experienced the atmosphere on Serbian soil when Crvena Zvezda and Partizan play. Just a year later, he expanded his experience as a member of the Athens “Greens” against Olympiacos.
“The Greek and Serbian derbies are similar, honestly. However, I think the derbies in Pionir and against Partizan are a bit more aggressive. Here, you have a net that controls all lighters and everything thrown onto the court. Maybe they could remove that. I’m really grateful that I was able to enjoy such games. It’s a life experience,” said Luca Vildoza.
This season, the Argentine has had issues with injuries and finding his form. Therefore, he has been the subject of criticism from head coach Ergin Ataman:
“I’m breaking myself in training. I just don’t have luck. Sometimes you just need one ball to go through the net and regain your confidence. I’m trying to be myself and get my shot back. However, it’s okay, that’s how professional basketball works. If you’re not good on the court, you’ll sit on the bench. I’ll do whatever it takes for my team to win on the court.”
