After the FIBA World Cup, Luigi Datome hung up his sneakers. As a guest of Fenerbahce in the match against Milan, where he is also a part of the team this year, he received a warm welcome.
The experienced Italian decided to be part of the “city of fashion” team, but not as a player, rather as a sort of consultant and collaborator. He spent five years at Fenerbahce, then played for three seasons at Milan, and after the conclusion of the FIBA World Cup in our beloved sport, he bid farewell.

“They have always done this even when I was a player, and now that I no longer wear the jersey, I don’t have to focus solely on the court, so I can watch them a bit,” Luigi Datome said after a warm welcome from the fans and continued:
“Incredible years, truly. We reached the top of Europe, and I can say we were a special group. We are still great friends and behave as if we are still teammates. Bogdan Bogdanović, Bobby Dixon, Pero Antić, Nikola Kalinić, Kostas Sloukas, Ekpe Udoh. We didn’t play together for a long time, but we forged wonderful friendships for a lifetime. It’s a huge pleasure for me to meet so many friends right here.”
