Luka Doncic, the Dallas Mavericks player, spoke at a press conference ahead of Game 2 of the NBA Finals series against the Boston Celtics.
The Boston Celtics easily defeated the Texas team in the first game of the finals by107:89. Luka Doncic played at his level, scoring 30 points, but there was a complete lack of support from his teammates, especially Kyrie Irving.
“We need to be more aggressive. We came out with little energy, so we need to be better with our energy, especially from the start. We talked about the boos for Irving, but we need to stay together and communicate more on the court than we did in the first game. That’s something we also need to improve.”
Interestingly, at the conference, a young player from the Detroit Pistons, Ausar Thompson, found himself in the role of a journalist, asking Doncic for advice.
“I’m just trying to have fun on the court. That’s the game I love, the game that pays me. There’s nothing better in the world than having basketball as your job,” said Luka Doncic.
He also had time to comment on football events, specifically Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid.
“I knew the transfer would happen even before it was official, but we haven’t talked since he signed.”
Finally, he was asked who will win the European Football Championship taking place this summer, and he gave an expected answer: “Slovenia.”
