Luka Doncic spoke to the media representatives after Slovenia’s convincing loss to Croatia in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens.
“I want to thank the Dallas Mavericks for letting me play. They have never had a problem with it. They also know that I will always play. It is a huge honor for me. It is normal for me to play for my country, of course, there will always be injuries. We are a country of two million people. Representing Slovenia means everything to me,” said Luka Doncic, and then he commented on Croatia’s performance:
“I think they played great. They outplayed us, starting with me. We need to play with much better energy.”
Croatia plays against New Zealand tomorrow at 16:30, and with a win, they will secure the top spot before the semifinals. If Slovenia wants to qualify to the semifinals, the calculation is very simple. They need to beat New Zealand if they want to go through.
