Luka Doncic is returning to Madrid tonight, where he will play an exhibition match against his former team, Real Madrid, at 8:45 PM.
The Slovenian international has come back to the place of his success before making the leap across the Atlantic to the NBA. The NBA star mentioned that he has been looking forward to this encounter for a while.
“Without Real Madrid, I wouldn’t be where I am now. I learned everything here, I trained here. We are all happy to be here. We are still in the preseason, and this is a good challenge. Playing against Real won’t be easy. I know I’ll be excited about the reception; I’ve been waiting for this day for months,” Doncic emphasized.
He then discussed the ambitions of his Dallas Mavericks for the upcoming season. He doesn’t hide the fact that it’s an excellent team with high aspirations.
“We still have a great team, with new players. We’re good. We’re still getting to know each other. The team is better, and I hope we’ll have a special season. When we’re outside the US, we spend a lot of time together. I hope we start the season well,” said the Slovenian.
In the end, he mentioned that if he ever returns to Europe, it will be to one club only, and that club is, of course, Real Madrid.
“If I ever return to Europe, I’m sure it will be to Madrid. I don’t know what the future holds, but if I do come back, it will be Madrid, one hundred percent,” concluded Luka Doncic.
