The franchise, formerly owned by Michael Jordan, displayed an impressive performance. At one point, they had a 15-point lead over the favored Mavericks, but Luka Doncic and his team managed to make a strong comeback in the second half to secure the win.
The Slovenian representative went scoreless in the opening period, which is a rare occurrence for him, but he ultimately led his team to win in scoring. He finished the game with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, closely followed by Kyrie Irving with 18 points and 10 assists.
On the other side, Lamelo Ball led the Charlotte Hornets, recording a triple-double performance. He filled up all statistical categories with 30 points, including an impressive 23 in the last quarter, along with 13 assists and 10 rebounds.
