Luka Doncic played an incredible game in the Dallas Mavericks’ victory over the Atlanta Hawks by 148-143 in the NBA league.
Amazing NBA records are being set these days. Following the outstanding performances of Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns, we witnessed another brilliant performance last night.
Namely, the Atlanta Hawks hosted the Dallas Mavericks on their home court. The game started much better for Atlanta, but already in the first quarter, it hinted that the visitors had an exceptionally well-deployed weapon on their side.
Although the Hawks won the quarter with a score of 31-27, everything was overshadowed by Luka Doncic, who scored an impressive 25 points by himself. In the second quarter, Doncic continued with excellent play, and Dallas went into halftime trailing by just one point.
In the second half, the guest managed to turn the advantage in their favor. Once again, the incredible Doncic appeared, and on his wings, the lead reached double digits. Considering how he played, it seemed there was no chance for the visitors to leave without a victory. On the other side, Bogdan Bogdanovic was excellent, but in the end, it would prove insufficient, as the Hawks were unable to threaten Dallas more concretely until the very end of the game.
The top scorer in the winning team was Doncic, who scored 73 points with 10 rebounds and seven assists. Josh Green added 21. As for the Hawks, Trae Young scored 30 points with 11 rebounds, and Bogdanovic added 24.
The Slovenian set a franchise record, previously held by Dirk Nowitzki. Additionally, this is the fourth-highest scoring game by a player, with only Wilt Chamberlain (twice) and Kobe Bryant ahead of him. Wilt scored 100 points in one game, while in another against the Los Angeles Lakers, he scored 78. Bryant famously scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors.
