The Slovenian basketball player was the top scorer in the game, putting up 49 points, as Dallas notched their second victory in the new NBA season, following their win against San Antonio.
In 36 minutes of play, Luka Doncic scored 49 points with an impressive 16/25 shooting from the field, a 64% success rate. The Slovenian star even made a career-record nine three-pointers out of 14 attempts.
Doncic was just three assists shy of achieving a triple-double, as he also grabbed 10 rebounds.
The first two quarters saw the lead change hands, with Brooklyn holding a seven-point lead at one point in the third quarter, 79-72, but Dallas managed to reduce the deficit to 89-85 by the end of the quarter.
With just 27 seconds left in the game and the score tied at 120-120, Luka Doncic made an incredible three-pointer from an almost impossible position, propelling his team to their second win of the season.
The Slovenian scored a staggering 30 points more than the next most efficient player for Dallas, Tim Hardaway Jr., who contributed 19 points. Kyrie Irving had 17 points, and Dwight Powell scored 11, both in double digits.
In the next round, Dallas will face Memphis, while the Brooklyn Nets will seek their first win in a matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.
