Maccabi celebrated against Bayern in the 7th round Euroleague with a score of 93-90 in the empty Aleksandar Nikolic Hall.
The game started at a somewhat slower pace, and Bayern had the first lead at 9-4 thanks to Ibaka and Edwards.
Until the end of the first quarter, it was a back-and-forth battle, and the final score was 19-17 in favor of Bayern.
In the second quarter, Edwards, with two consecutive three-pointers, gave Bayern the largest lead at 31-25. However, following that, Maccabi, thanks to Colson and Brown, orchestrated an 8-0 run, taking the lead for the first time in the game with a score of 33-31.
The halftime score was 46-44 in favor of Maccabi.
In the third quarter, Maccabi continued with excellent play, especially with a notable performance from Colson. At the end of the third period, the score was 71-63 in favor of the Israelis.
The fourth quarter started at a slow pace, but Bayern closed in to just one point behind with Ibaka’s basket three minutes before the end of the game. The scoreboard showed 85-84 in favor of Maccabi.
That’s when the key moments of the game occurred. Lorenzo Brown, with two stolen balls and 4 points, became the hero for Maccabi.
There were no further excitements until the end of the game, and Maccabi easily preserved their lead.
Colson scored the most points for Maccabi with 19, while Edwards led Bayern with 17.
Maccabi has a record of 3-3 and will play against Olympiacos in the next match, while Bayern, with a record of 2-5, will face Partizan in their upcoming game.
